On Other new I have recently become addicted to Flogging Molly. I saw them play here on Febuary 1st and i have been kicking myself in the head for not knowing of them before hand. They are a successfully mix of Irish folk music and punk rock. Which just for that, they have earned my respect, not many bands today can do somthing like that. My favorite of their songs would have to be 'Black Friday Rule' The lyrics just hit really close to home with me.
Flogging Molly- Black Friday Rule
I want to believe in myself once again
So I dream of a man whose hopes never end
To kiss with a girl who's as lovely as you
I'd give you my heart, if you gave me the truth
And for every tear that is lost from an eye
I'd dig me a well where no man could destroy
I want to believe in a freedom that's bold
But all I remember is the freedom of old
Well I lost me a wife, so I found me a plane
Flew all the way to California
This mess in my head is a mess getting out
Ya drink too much coffee, I drink too much stout
But after a while, when my mouth's not so dry
I'll dance up a storm, sure life's looking fine
But as darkness falls, I return to my bed
Don't ask me more questions, don't fuck with my head
I've been down in this world, down and almost broken
Like thousands of people, left standing in their shoe
I've been down in this world, down and almost broken
As thousands they grieve, as the Black Friday rule
The buildings they shake but my heart it beats still
Oh mother of Jesus, I feel pretty ill
I want to go home where my feet both feel safe
But there ain't no jobs in the old free state
So I must remain in my new adopted land
I'm doing the best, Hell I'm doin' all I can
So next time you see me, don't ask for my name
For I am the King and sure long may I reign
I've been down in this world, down and almost broken
Like thousands of people, left standing in their shoe
I've been down in this world, down and almost broken
As thousands they grieve, as the Black Friday rule
I've been down in this world, down and almost broken
Like thousands of people, left standing in their shoe
I've been down in this world, down and almost broken
As thousands they grieve, as the Black Friday rule

I hate to admit this, though I have already told Oni over the phone, but I was doubtful about Oni with the whole picture tracing thing. My boyfriend was the one who actually made me think before getting upset with Oni. So I have him to thank cause if not for him, I would have ruined a great friendship.

Can't say I exactly have a good view on how to keep friends or what to do, since...I haven't had that many to begin with. And whenever I did, they'd end up being fake, you know? It's hard to tell what people really think or what their motives are online AND off. Just because someone talks to you in person, that doesn't mean they're being 'real' with you. It's really hard for me to come to terms with that or accept that there are actually GOOD people out there. People can be pricks. Life is tough. Hopefully I'll learn from these mistakes someday.
In terms of Oni, she and I have already talked over the phone about people and how they act, etc. She and I practically deal with the same things (aside from her being stalked, harassed by strangers, other horrible things). Anything (or half of the things) that happens to me is all imagined from anxiety and being left to fend for myself in terms of 'friends'.
Oni is a great friend. More dependable than the ones I had in school. She was one of the first people on DA, I think, that I met.
Bah. I'm starting to tear up a little.
